Just got back home from the Spectrum Fantastic Art Live convention in Kansas City. I learned a lot this year.  I've decided to take all the distracting watermarks off my work, and make prints available through Deviant Art. I'm also going to update my work here more frequently, and try to maintain some sort of a presence. I'll be uploading a couple new photos a day, so keep checking back. I welcome your feedback and comments.

"The Masquerade" show has been extended for another month at Leon Gallery! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the project, the exhibit centers around a series of masks designed and created by me, worn by a variety of striking models, and photographed by myself, Matt Buford, and EricDallimore. Each artist truly brings his own vision to the project as seen in my use of vivid color and image manipulation, Buford's exquisite composition and use of print making, and Dallimore's painstaking traditional approach in manipulating film to achieve astounding results. Coupled with the two dimensional images, I have created life sized sculptures of many of the characters in my images. The overall result is breath taking. The exhibit runs until the end of May.

I want to let you know that I will be at the gallery, hosting an all day showcase of "The Masquerade" on Monday May 14th. Here are the details:

"The Masquerade"  formerly titled (somewhat genericly) "The Mask Project" has found a home at Denver's elite gallery - LEON - in the city's historic Uptown District. Opening April 6th, 2012, "The Masquerade" showcases the incredible talent of three of the nation's most gifted artists - Chris Guarino, Matt Buford, and Eric Dallimore.

The exhibit centers around a series of masks designed and created by Guarino, worn by a variety of striking models, and photographed by Guarino, Buford, and Dallimore. Each artist truly brings his own vision to the project as seen in Guarino's brilliant use of vivid color and image manipulation, Buford's exquisite composition and use of print making, and Dallimore's painstaking traditional approach in manipulating film to achieve astounding results. Coupled with the two dimensional images, Guarino has created life sized sculptures of many of the characters in his images. Some are over eight feet tall! The overall result is breath taking, and when the exhibit is finally unveiled on April 6th it will be well worth the wait.

But there is no reason you have to wait to get your hands on special Limited Edition Prints of the work, as select galleries in San Francisco, Chicago, and Denver have been showcasing small scale "previews" of  "The Masquerade" all year. As of the writing of this article, prints are still available at "Back to the Picture Gallery" 934 Valencia St, SAn Francisco, CA, and I have it on good authority that a select few of Guarino's pieces will be at on display at Chicago's "Gallery Provocateur," located at 2125 N. Rockwell, Chicago, IL starting October 29th 2011. Of course if you're not able to make it out to one of those shows, many of the prints can be ordered online through the artists' websites:

www.ericdallimore.com

www.facebook.com/mattbuford

So mark your calendars everyone, the stars have alined, the mask project has been given a name, a solid date and an amazing home! See the results of three years of effort put forth by three of the most creative minds in the art world today!
